AutoCAD 2009 Tutorial: Switching to the Classic Interface in AutoCAD 2009

The new look and user interface of AutoCAD 2009 will change the way access your favorite commands. One option that you have is to change the workspace to display AutoCAD the way it looked in previous releases. Out of the box, AutoCAD 2009 ships with the following workspaces: 2D Drafting & Annotation, 3D Modeling, and AutoCAD Classic. In this tutorial, you will switch workspaces to the AutoCAD Classic User Interface.

To start with, open AutoCAD 2009.

Then, on the status bar, pick the Workspace Switching icon (the one that looks like a gear near the right side of the status bar).

Pick AutoCAD Classic from the menu.

To switch to the 3D modeling workspace, on the status bar, pick the Workspace Switching icon (the one that looks like a gear near the right side of the status bar).

Pick 3D Modeling from the menu. This can be used to show only the tools required to create a 3D model.
