The Sheet Metal
Feature
Once you have created a Base Flange, you will notice two items
added to the FeatureManager design tree. These are: Sheet-Metal1 and
Base-Flange1.

The Base-Flange1, of course, is the Base Flange you just created. The
Sheet-Metal1 feature is your sheet metal parameters and default values.
Place the cursor over Sheet-Metal1 and right click the mouse to display the
menu. Pick Edit Feature. In the Sheet-Metal1 PropertyManager, you will see the
Bend
Parameters (default radius and material thickness), Bend Allowance (the method
and value), and Auto Relief. These are primarily the default values used when you
created a new feature which requires one of these values.

Here is where you can change the default bend radius and Bend Allowance method
and value if you wish. These are important to make sure you get the correct
flat pattern. Remember that each sheet metal feature of your model can
override these values, however if you don’t override them, the features will
inherit the values shown here.
Note that the material thickness is grayed out. The only way to change it here
is to specify a gauge table. Otherwise, if you want to change it, click on the
Green Check Mark at the top of the Sheet-Metal1 PropertyManager to close the
PropertyManager. Then, right click on the Base-Flange1 feature and pick
Edit
Feature from the menu.
If you do specify a gauge table, the PropertyManager is expanded to allow you
to select a gauge thickness from the table. Or you can check the Override
thickness check box and enter a material thickness.
You should also note that once you specify a thickness from a gauge table, you
can no longer change the thickness value on the Base-Flange1 feature unless
you have checked the box to Override thickness.
