SolidWorks Tips & Tricks
Repeating the Same
Commands in SolidWorks Repeat Last Command does what it says, it repeats the last command. Say that you created a sheet metal base flange. Then, you added an edge flange to one side of the base flange. To create another edge flange, simply press the Enter key, or pull down the "Edit" menu and pick Repeat Last Command as shown in Figure 1. The Edge-Flange PropertyManager appears without clicking the Edge Flange command, allowing you to create another edge flange.
Just remember that SolidWorks repeats the last command. So, if you create a simple hole, but before you use the Repeat Last Command feature, you Zoom to Fit. Zoom to Fit is now the last command that will be repeated, not the simple hole command. The Enter key is the default shortcut key. This, of course, can be customized by pulling down the "Tools" menu and picking Customize. On the Keyboard tab, you can reassign any shortcut key that you like. Another helpful feature is the recent command list, available when you right-click in the graphics area. SolidWorks keeps track of every command that you have used. The Recent Commands menu displays the last ten unique commands, meaning that commands are not repeated. The most recent command is at the top of the list. SolidWorks maintains a separate list for sketching and each document type. To view or repeat a recent command, right-click in the graphics area and pick Recent Commands, as shown in Figure 2. Then, pick a command from the list as your next command. You can even repeat your last command.
